"But you can't protect everyone," she mused quietly and quizzically. Almost as if Adrian were silly not to see that he was only one person. "There are just too many people to help all of them."
When Adrian was here, she could think clearer. It was like he was a piece of a puzzle that went missing and Lyri would find again and again, but only for a little while. Lyri tried pushing herself up in the bed and struggled for a moment before re-finding a comfortable spot. "You didn't do this thing on purpose; if you had, you wouldn't feel so bad."
Lyri didn't like when her friends were sad....where was Lola? Why hadn't she come to see her? Staring off in the distance, Lyri reached over to touch Adrian's hand, "Where is Lola, Adrian? The bad people...please tell me they didn't hurt her."
