"So long as it's not dangerous," she murmured, nestling her head against him and just breathing in his scent. It soothed her just having Dex beside her; his arms providing a warmth she hadn't thought she could feel after she woke up and realized her brother wasn't awake. Mika knew she could let it all out here. He wouldn't expect an explanation of her pain, but he would let her talk if she needed to. It was one of the many good things about their bond, and as much as the lioness didn't like being weak, she trusted that he wouldn't see this display as such. And like Dex said, she could draw strength from him now that her own seemed to have left.
The whispered words tugged at her heart, and fresh tears fell. Mika wasn't even sure why she was crying now; a combination of things, surely. "You're the only one who can, besides..." Trailing off, her voice failed before she could speak his name, but they both knew who she meant. Niko was always her rock, her protector when Dex couldn't be, and she didn't want to think about the possibility of never having that ever-present source of comfort anymore. It was too painful, and Mika buried her face into his chest and let the tears fall. The only thing keeping her from complete and utter despair, from an irreparable emotional break, was Dex holding her close and stroking her hair. She honestly didn't know how she could have done this without him.
"It didn't happen to just me, though. It happened to everyone...I feel so selfish worrying only about Niko, but I just can't think of anything else. There's no more room," she murmured, lifting her tear-stained face a little so she could look at him. "I don't know what I would do if you weren't here."
