Who: Chess and Leo Where: Chess's suite When: A couple weeks after the ball What: A call from a gentleman
Leo had never spent much time away from court. His mother had made it clear she felt like he would get the best education there. he was of the opinion that she was right. Not to mention there seemed to be far fewer complications in his life than his in his cousins. But it had occurred to him that it had resulted in a rather limited exposure. Or least that was what he had explained to his mother when he had brought up the idea of pursuing a degree at Mystic Viel. She had protested the suddenness of his decision but Leo had convinced her.
It was not his interest in exposure that he was focused on. Sure it was an added benefit of enrolling at Mystic Viel. But Francesca Rigotti was the real reason he had made the decision to enroll. He had weighed the option of courting her from the court and had decided that the long-distance would only be a detriment. It made far more sense to be where she was in order to court her.
He ignored the woman that stared at him as he walked through the hall. Leo had always been particular about the women he courted. Which was probably why there were so few that had actually caught his attention. There was something difference about Chess. He had known it at the ball. he had never felt such a connection with someone so quickly. He had hardly strayed from her company after they had met at the ball.
He knocked as he reached her door. As he waited he adjusted the expensive bouquet of flowers he had brought her in his hand. He wanted to impress her as much as he was surprising her with his arrival.
