Rainier & Cameo
Rain couldn't help but chuckle at his soulmate's faux innocent act. Wrapping his arms around her, he pressed a gentle kiss to the top of her head. "Very remiss," he agreed, affecting a pout. He expected her to remedy the mistake but instead, she seemed inclined to tease him more. Releasing her, Rain made an exaggerated gasp as his mouth widened in shock. "You are a cruel, cruel woman," he informed her, shaking his head as he took a sip of his champagne instead of indulging in another kiss. If she wanted to play hard, he would follow suit.
"A cheat sheet?" he answered, nearly snorting his drink as he risked a glance at her. The expression fell from his face as he looked down at Cammie. "I think it's just ingrained in every tiny noble from birth, the ability to remember a neverending list of pompous assholes," he said with a shrug. "But I can make you a cheat sheet if you really think your father is going to give you a pop quiz." Rain was smiling though he knew she was seriously worried. They both were. Never before had he missed a life outside of all this more than he did at the current moment. He felt like he was exposed in a lion enclosure or set adrift in shark-infested waters. He longed for the moments back in New York when all he had to worry about was if Cam would find out his family was full of psychopaths.
