Rainier & Cameo
When Cameo had been a small girl she'd dreamed of attending the Vampire Ball; of standing before the King and Queen and receiving their praise and then a gorgeous knight-in-shining armor would come and sweep her off of her feet and they lived happily ever after. That childhood fairytale had certainly been a lot less complicated than Cammie's current reality of manipulative parents, edgy royalty, missing siblings, and one certain certifiably insane sister. The young vampiress knew things were sketchy when even Rain was on edge. Still she had to smile softly thinking that at least she'd gotten her handsome knight.
To say that she'd been surprised that the couples' presence was expected at the Ball was an understatement, and both she and Rain knew exactly what kind of retaliation would be dolled out if even one of them disappointed. In the hopes of not offending Eirian, but also impressing the King and Queen, along with Rain's parents, Cameo had dressed in a unobtrusive pale blue, deep cut, custom gown which showcased her delicate build and fair complexion. Since her Father had received an invitation for the first time, he'd been more than happy to pay for whatever Cammie had requested, and she'd happily spent his cash. The gown was paired with similarly shaded heels with flower accents, and she'd had her silvery blonde hair pulled back into a simple loose chignon. Accoutrements were kept minimal with an array of stacked sapphire, diamond, and moonstone rings on one hand, dainty diamond and rose gold constellation earrings and a stunning opal ring that changed color in the light, and reminded her so much of her soulmate's eyes.
As if Cameo had summoned him with a thought, Rain reappeared at her side with a sparkling flute of champagne which she took in relief. "Maybe you should have just brought the bottle with you," she replied slyly as she took a sip of the crisp alcohol. Glancing up at her companion, the young woman wasn't surprised to see the steely set of Rain's jaw and the terse look in his eyes as they watched the mass of bodies that filled the ballroom. Pulled to his side by their bond, Cammie slipped her hand into his own so that his attention turned to her instead. Blue eyes met those of mutable colors and there was a moment of silence before Cameo rose on her toes and placed a light kiss against her soulmates soft lips, "Have I told you how much I love you today?"
