LUKE & KENNA | FAMILY COMPOUND - NCA | MAY 21th WHO: LUKE & KENNA [APPEARANCES BY DUNCAN & MICHELINE MACNAMARA] WHERE: FAMILY COMPOUND, NORTHERN CALIFORNIA WHEN: MAY 21ST WHAT: WHAT WAS LOST, IS NOW FOUND
To the 'early birds' he passed by, it simply appeared that Duncan MacNamara was doing his routine morning training run. There was a light spring-summer fog that hung low in the sky; the mist coalesced on the young mans skin and was cooled as he cut swiftly through the air. All was not as it appeared though. Those who knew Duncan best: like Cyrus, Aiyana, and Jake, would realize that he'd deviated from his normal course. Most especially Cyrus as his friend often took these runs with him during competition season.
Today though, Duncan had a specific destination. Grymm House. He needed to see Lucas Danvers. As the witch felt the rough brush of the small envelope hidden against his collarbone, the memory of how it came to be rose within him. Even now the young man was unsure of what time it was when he came back to himself, a ragged breath shuddered through Dunc as his spirit settled back into his bones. Eyes has trouble focusing in the dim light, but he noticed there was a pen in his hand, and letters scrawled in a handwriting that was not his own. It was his Grandmere Micheline's.
The elder MacNamara was an extraordinarily talented witch, who had a direct connection to every member of her family, both near and far. It was that connection that allowed her to ride his spirit. The first letter was for Duncan himself; it detailed the finding of Kenna and the circumstances surrounding her disappearance. It also provided him background on what she would be discussing with Ciaran Salem in the following days. Lastly, the letter asked that he do a task for her. She wished for her grandson to ask Luke Danvers to come to her before the New Moon. The second note was smaller and simply had the address of their family compound in northern California, and her own signature. Glancing out of his window, the witch instinctively knew where Lady Moon was in her phases...Luke had until the moon rose on the next day.
Duncan veered from the sidewalk, slid past a few students who gave the well known witch a look of confusion, as he slipped into the halls of Grymm. It was Hope who had given Dunc the floor and room number of the wolf. He'd heard a distinct tone in his fellow practitioners voice, but had not time to question if the rumors he'd heard were true. Besides, it wasn't really his right to speculate. With a glance down both sides of the hall, the young man wrapped aggressively, yet without too much noise. He waited patiently until the wolf pulled open the door with a grumble. He'd figured Luke wouldn't care to be pulled from sleep so early, but time was of the essence. Needless to say, the face that greeted him went from angry, to shocked...and perhaps a little fearful? Reaching into his jacket, Duncan retrieved the small envelope and gently held it out to his companion. "She'll expect you to be prompt." Duncan's deep, warm voice continued, "Listen to her, and answer her questions if she asks them of you."
Cryptic? Perhaps. But no one else needed to know their business. The witch nodded as Luke took the fragile slip of paper. Duncan turned to walk away, but swiftly turned back and stopped the door from closing, "Never lie to her, Luke. She'll know, and she'll never help you again."
