Her quiet request pulled at Kellan's heart. He nodded and repeated his greeting but using her name. He wasn't surprised by her reaction. he knew she would look through it all with time but for now, it was going to be rough. The drastic shift in her life was clearly tearing her emotions in a million different directions.
"I have suspected almost as long as I have known you," he told her honestly. But he fell silent again quickly as he let her release everything she had been clearly holding back. It was nothing he didn't expect though her emotions pulled at his heart. he waited for her to run out of steam before he said anything more.
"You are who you have always known yourself to be," he told her gently before he reached to brush a tear off her cheek, "nothing will change that." he knew she wouldn't believe just that statement. "And that is because you are a crown princess. It's in every fiber of your being. An abused child doesn't carry herself with perfect grace as an adult. She doesn't always have the strength to stand in the face of every complication and come up stronger on the other side of it. You were born with that strength and you make it even stronger when you draw from the power your tormentors tried to hide from you." he paused to let her think through everything he was saying. But just for a moment. "You have always been a Princess, Audrey, and some part of you has always known it."
"It is why you had to know," He did not doubt that choosing to for her to now the full truth was the right decision, "And the family that has longed to have you back deserves to know that you were found." He brushed away another tear before he kissed her forehead gently.
"We'll make sure you are never left alone again," he assured her, "but I do believe it is far past time for this to be taken off completely," he told her as he moved to remove the broken charm bracelet from her wrist.
