It wasn't until Sahara was actually in his room and he was asking her what was going did she realize that she was going to have to EXPLAIN alot. The answer to what was happening was far from easy and usually something her kind avoided doing like the plague. Not that Stars were vulnerable to the plague but the point remained. But she trusted Dallas. Really who wouldn't trust Dallas?
She let him pull her against him easily, wrapping her arms around him and burying her face in his shoulder for a long moment. it was safe and comforting in his arms and suddenly the fact that she needed to explain what was going on was no longer a concern. it was worth it for the sake of feeling safe in his arms. But she took a few minutes bofore she pulled back just enough to see him.
"My cousins were attacked," she started, having no idea where else to start. She let herself slowly sit on the couch they were standing near, hoping he would sit with her. She had never actually introduced him to her cousins as the girls had never been super close. "Logan and Corey Brenner," she offed as some explanation, "I think they will be ok but Corey is pretty touch and go." She paused for a moment trying to figure out where she needed to start for any of this to make sense.
"Ok this is going to sound weird," she started, "I'm a Star." She paused to gauge his reaction to what most people would probably find a ridiculous statement. Well they would if they didn't immediately assume she was saying she was some secret celebrity, "Like as my species I am a Star and obviously my cousins are too. But its like super secret cause there are only like 5 families of us total in the entire world and because of... Starhunters." it was obvious the word terrified Sahara and it took a moment for her to get back to explaining. "So stars have lots of benefits. Making wishes around us can make things come true more easily. Like when we had sex on the Ferris wheel cause we were stop at the top. You had wished it wouldn't move again until it was fixed so we were up there for a while," she explained. It was impossible to ignore the wave of heat that rushed through her with the memory. Honestly they should do something like that again. She had to shake off the way her mind wandered to get back to explaining. "But other benefits are way less wholesome," she grimaced with her words, "So eating the heart of a star can restore youth and prevent death. And our hair and blood have healing qualities. Other... pieces of us have been used in fertility potions and all sorts of things. Basically there isn't a single part of my body that a starhunter wouldn't kill me to get and sell."
She paused to let him process everything she was saying to him. it was alot to take in and most GOOD people in the world couldn't even fathom doing the terrible things a starhunter would do. But her silence only lasted a moment. "It was a starhunter that killed my aunt and that hunter must have tracked Logan and Corey cause he is HERE! He nearly killed Corey and Logan isn't in great shape but the main hunter got away and he could come for me too!" Sahara's panic was back as she practically flung herself forward in to Dallas's arms.
