"How about we just avoid the danger in the future?" she asked allowing herself just a moment to sink into his arms. She wanted to stay there, wrapped up tightly where nothing could reach her. She trusted that he would keep her safe, Just like she trusted him to find them, to save them. She could only allow herself a moment though. Her sister was dying. She focused on getting up as Brea talked to Colt. She could hear how bad it was in his voice.
"But Corey is already really hurt!" she protested just before Colt's begging and yelling started. Logan's eyes widened with panic. She was on her feet finally but the world spun and she fell into Brea. it was a relief as he scooped her up into his arms. but the feeling was short-lived as they reached her sister and Colt and Logan saw why Colt of screaming.
"No..." she breather, her tears starting again, "Corey no!" he voice rose as loud as it could and squirmed in Brea's arms to get closer to her sister. Her grief and fear were on the verge of taking over completely when Corey gasped for a breath of air. "COREY!" she cried her relief adding to the tears falling down her face. Her attention moved to Colt as he spoke.
"It will help but the healing of stars doesn't work fully on stars. It will help but not completely heal," she explained. She steadied herself as Brea put her down so he could do his own spell work. She waited just a moment, hoping that the break would mean Brea didn't notice exactly what she was doing. She didn't want to worry him more.
Their kidnappers had everything she needed there and she took the few careful steps she needed to get a bowl, a knife and a pair of scissors. As quickly as she could she caught her tears in the bowl, cut a new but small wound into her hand for just a little bit of WILLINGLY given blood. I would work so much better. And then used the scissors to cut off itty bitty pieces of hair. It glowed slightly and looked like dust... stardust... as it fell into the bowl. A few stirs and Logan looked up again.
"Make her drink this, Colt," she said holding the bowl out to him with her slightly bleeding hand.
