Corey didn't know how long she'd been in the damp warehouse. There was metal scaffolding all around, some of which had either been twisted or welded off in pieces that were strewn around the floor she was seated on. It was those pieces they had used to secure her to the column her back was pressed against, two in her wrists and one through her abdomen to be specific. The man had two others with him, helping run the operation it seemed, and they had placed buckets beneath her arms and in front of her to catch the blood as it dripped out of her. Corey remembered thinking that he must have some kind of training in order to push the jagged metal through her in places that would steadily leak blood without killing her too quickly, but another blow to the face had knocked her out before she could think anymore.
When she next woke, there was a burning pain in her thigh, and she managed to roll her head and peer down with the eye that wasn't nearly swollen shut as a whimper left her. There was a gash running down her thigh, and some of her skin had been cut away. Bile rose in her throat, both from the pain and the sight, and she idly wondered how long they were going to keep her alive while they took her apart. The fact that she could see strips of skin hanging a few feet away as if they were pieces of linen out to dry made her stomach lurch, and she wasn't even sure how she managed to gag with the metal through her stomach. A lot of blood came up, causing one of the lackeys with her captor to hurry over, kicking her violently in her other leg until a loud crack made her scream. "You're wasting the merchandise!" he growled at her, fist connecting with her face before darkness swallowed her again. A blessing, really, considering a piece of her bone was now protruding from her leg and the two men were discussing how best to harvest it since it was incredibly rare. At least from a living specimen, which made it more potent.
