Of course she knew that Haejin was doing his service, but Jem didn't say anything. She wasn't really the type to give an inch, even when there was a reason to. It just wasn't in her nature. The witch nodded at him though, making a hum of acknowledgment of his pain. As the older idol reminded her that he had to deal with the aftermath of the hexing she merely shrugged her shoulders in what was clearly not an apology.
"In his defense he did text me when she showed up because of the moon, before they got swept up in all of it. So clearly you're doing something right." The idol told her she was just at the beginning of her kpop parenting and she sighed dramatically. He was right of course, and for all her moaning about it, she wouldn't let anyone else do it. It was just how she was.
Jem's eyebrow rose at Jingi's laugh as he joked about being boys being a fun distraction. There was a clear shaking of her head in disagreement. But she saw as his eyes moved across the room to where his rainbow haired girlfriend was dancing with her best friend. Oh how Jem predicted THAT blowing up in his face eventually. The girl wasn't really part of the K-pop world, wasn't on his level of fame and she couldn't imagine how it would end in any way that wasn't going to hurt her. And probably the idol still smiling warmly at her as he said dating wasn't all bad.
She'd blame the alcohol for the un-ladlylike snort that escaped her. And the look of surprise it earned her. Clearing her throat she readjusted her position and did NOT say any of the things she'd been thinking, because insulting her host was probably not in her best interests.
"Dating is almost impossible in our world." She gestured at Key and Rose with her glass of wine. "They're not even dating for real and the netizens say the cruelest things about Rose." There was an edge of bitterness in her voice. It wasn't that she didn't like Kibum, or thought they shouldn't date. She thought if they were really in love and in this together with the emotional support, Rose wouldn't have such a hard time of it.
"I can't imagine any boy is worth the drama that comes with them," she finally said. But her thoughts did drift to a certain rather beautiful boy in her women in literature class and there was a softer sigh she didn't even realize she made. Until there was a LOOK on Jingi's face and she quickly tried to cover what ever THAT slip was.
"I would never date an idol and the idea of dragging anyone who isn't an idol into this, is even less appealing," she covered, taking a sip of her drink.
