As Jingi laughed, it was one of those unguarded genuine laughs that were so rare in their circles and Jem found herself smiling in spite of herself. He added that she only had three to manage, while he had six. He welcomed her to "K-pop parenthood" and she shook her head with a soft laugh.
"At least you have a co-parent," she pointed out, gesturing with her glass as she leaned on the counter, angling her body more towards the taller idol as he settled against the bar to talk to her. Jem smoothed her long sleek ponytail over her shoulder before she took another sip of her wine.
"But you have all boys, which I'm sure presents it own challenges, but you're not having to hex faux boyfriends off one of your members while she's in one of the worst heats of her life," she said dryly with a completely straight face.
"Or have to cover for your love sick maknae who is secretly dating not only an idol, but the Phoenix crown prince, who is also her ex-boyfriend who broke her heart, and he's absolutely going to do it again." Taking another sip she sighed and rolled her eyes.
"I don't see the allure with all this dating. Boys are just a distraction."
