Grace| Dallas; 10:00ish pm
"Who knew taking off a mask would earn such food for my ego?" he mused, though the blush on his cheeks betrayed Dallas' attempts to be playfully suave. The compliments were truly wonderful, and he found that when they came from Grace they carried more weight. "That is a true honor coming from someone as kind, generous, and brilliant as you," he said, the flush to his cheeks worsening as he repeated her words. Could he not think of anything better to say? Dallas found it a wonder that she didn't shake her head and laugh as she walked away right this instant. He had no idea what he was doing, and he was fairly certain he was botching this up.
Seeing the look on Grace's face as he spoke gave him courage to keep going. The smile was beautiful, lighting up her entire face and eyes, and he was mesmerized for a few moments. How had he never noticed this before? Were masks really that good at transforming the thoughts as well as concealing their wearer? He listened as she went on about his words, and Dallas couldn't help but chuckle at her adorable response. "You are certainly a great friend, and definitely a goofball, but that's part of what makes you amazing." He couldn't believe he'd just said that, though hopefully Grace was used to him bumbling idiocies enough by now not to be bothered.
