Pollux and Saffron - Weirdo Date
Admittedly, but probably not surprisingly, Pollux had never really participated in Valentine's Day before. He preferred the beauty that could be found in dark things, the things everyone else overlooked, and hadn't ever had the urge to participate in the garish and bright overly commercialized "Day of Love". This year, however, he finally had Saffron back in his life. Not just back in it either, but she was with him. The thought still filled him with awe, though he realized the irony in that the most beautiful thing he had ever seen was someone who was not dark but like the sun and starlight rolled into one. Saffron stood out, she was radiant rather than dark, but she still appreciated the same beauty he did.
In the spirit of the holiday and celebrating that they were finally together, Pollux had planned out a perfect evening. Of course, as happened in life, things didn't go exactly as planned. He wasn't sure what had caused them to be late for their reservation, but an error on the restaurant's part meant there was nowhere for them to go when they arrived. Some people might have caused a scene and made a fuss, but not Pollux and Saffron. Instead they'd merely picked a place they could order takeout from and decided to eat back at school. There was no need to get riled up over a simple mistake. Pollux didn't particularly care about the fancy setting or the atmosphere. He just wanted to spend time with Saffron.
His hand was on top of hers that rested on his thigh as he drove, the silence completely at ease. When she gasped softly, he tilted his head a bit in concern, though the look on her face erased that emotion immediately. His lips tugged up in a smile at her excited exclamation, and he turned his head for a moment so he could see out her window. Immediately, he knew what had her so excited. The smile deepened as he knew what she was going to say before the words came out of her mouth, though he still nodded eagerly as if it was truly a question of whether they would do it or not. Of course they would.
He turned the car towards the mansion, driving past the run down gate slowly as the 'driveway' was merely overgrown grass and crumbling rocks. Once he'd parked, they got out, and he scooped up the bags of food as Saffron started to head towards the front door eagerly. "I was going to be a gentleman and carry you!" he informed her, though his fond smile showed he wasn't as put off as he was playing he was. "But you're running off without me." Tossing her a wink as they stepped inside, his eyes widened as he took it all in. "I think I might want to move in," he confirmed, allowing her to pull him by the arm further into the space. He was also not dressed in gorgeous-yet-dirty-old-mansion-exploration clothes, but Pollux didn't care. There was laundry for a reason.
It obviously hadn't been touched, or even visited, in many many years, which only made the pair love it more. "Want to see who can get up the staircase faster?" he grinned at her. "I'll even take my shoes off and let you out of those heels to give you a better chance."
