Thread: Nacola and Roxy
Who: Roxy and Nacola Where: Roxy's room When: A few days after the Bloodmoon What: Roxy really needs to talk something out
Roxy was stressing. then again there were very few times when Roxy wasn't stressing. the difference was now she was trying really hard not to fall back on bad coping mechanisms. Which was a good thing but she probably should have tried to establish good coping mechanisms. She had old ones. Which considered mostly of a lot of candy and emotional talking in a blanket fort. Well, the blanket fort part she and down. Roxy didn't allow anyone in the bedroom of her single dorm she had been in since she moved out of the dorm she shared with Nacola. The living room was fine but not her bedroom. It was her safe place ad the whole room was set up like a blanket fort. She had done it after the dream she had shared with Nacola. It had been one of many realizations that she needed a safe place. The whole room was dropped in light white fabric lit with fairy lights and covered with fluffy pillows and blankets.
She kept trying to tell herself shew as being ridiculous. The effects of the blood moon were random, people were affected differently. At least that's what she had convinced herself of for like a day. The only problem was that didn't seem to really be the case. Especially with the fae. listening to people talk it seemed to be exactly what she suspected. The Seelie were affected universally in feeling weak to various degrees, maybe a little bit sick. Adrian had been very unwell and she had heard most of the court was highly affected. The Unseelie... Well, they were hit with a surge of power and energy. Roxy was the crown Seelie process. She should have been hit hard by the effects of the eclipse. but... she wasn't. She hadn't felt the effects at all. If anything she felt like she had had extra energy that night. She had wanted to sing and dance and ... well, she had figured out what the and was. It felt like there was something to explore but she had never managed to put her finger on it. Especially not when she realized how poorly Adrian was feeling. And then she heard from her parents. She had kinda faked being sick and tired then. Roxy knew immediately something was wrong. In the few days after she had come up with a theory. But it wasn't exactly a good one.
Roxy knew she no longer truly believed in the code of the Seelie Fae. That belief had been fading for years. She hadn't let herself believe that the code of the Unseelie spoke to her now. The effect hadn't been as strong as it was for the Unseelie around school but the effect was similar... And that was where her mind stalled. She had never heard of a transition like that. Surely it would have been talked about if it had happened. And a royal one? it could be devastating. But still, It was the only conclusion she could come too, even if her brain wasn't letting her get to that conclusion completely.
She sighed as she picked up a vegan cookie from the plate next to her. Kanye ate them and she had recently decided she liked them. Maybe she liked them mostly cause it felt like he was near when she ate them. She missed him so much. She brushed the crumbs away from her pajamas before she picked up her phone. It had been her intention to just scroll through it but impulse took over. She needed to talk this out. maybe Nacola wasn't busy?
Hey, wanna come hang out with me in my room?"
she texted quickly and sent it before she could change her mind. She reminded herself she wasn't trying to hold her best friend so far away anymore. More than that. Nacola wouldn't jusge her. Of all the things that had happened over the years, Nacola had never judged her.
