Adelaide was quickly growing more and more aware of the idea of a soul mates. She had always resisted the idea or thought it fanciful. Now she couldn't help but believe. She was sure it was the only reason Fabian wasn't completely walking away from her. but it was more than that. Every time she stood at his door, she could feel him. She could feel his anger and his grief. His emotions were overwhelming and all she wanted to do was to beg him to forgive her. How had she fucked this all up so badly? There was one person in her life that really truly unconditionally loved her and all she did was hurt him.
She knocked at the door even though she hadn't told him she was coming. She probably should have. Though she knew if she had he would have told her not to come. its what he always told her when she asked. Just like he would ignore her knocks whenever she came. she would stay there until it simply became too unbearable to stand outside his door any longer. then she would normally return to her room where she typically cried for the rest of the night.
it was starting to seem like another one of those nights the longer she stood outside his door with no response. She was resting her head on his door, trying so hard not to start crying before she got back to her room. She was already failing at that though. the silent tears left trails through her makeup. She was sure he was going to ignore her again. His voice through the door startled her filling her with a confusing mess of hope and profound sadness. She could hear the exhaustion in his voice, the sadness. Not to mention his actual words. She got the sense quickly that he really didn't want her to be there.
"I was hoping we could talk." she started. The sound of her voice carried her guilt, her hope, her damn near pleading. "We haven't tried to talk face to face. Please, Fabian."
