Re: Corey & Colt | Colt's Dorm
The fact that they had fought wasn't forgotten, not really, but Corey was much more focused on this ice cream idea. She knew in the back of her mind that they needed to talk about that kiss, and she even knew that maybe they needed to talk about the feelings that had brought out that fight, but she didn't want to do any of that right now. They had just survived an absolutely crazy dangerous stunt, using only the connection and bond they had with each other. It was exhilarating. Not to mention, Colt's idea of bringing her here was right on point. Even though he wasn't Wess, the sentiment was beyond touching.
And she wanted some damn ice cream.
"Maybe," she returned, her grin impish as she waited for him to put his helmet down so they could inside. "It depends on how big a cone you get me." Her words seemed to get a little lost, however, as Colt finally turned to look at her. Corey had nearly forgotten about her eye and her face at the mention of ice cream, so his yell made her jump. Maybe there was still a little bit of residual adrenaline from their ride left after all. As Colt dropped to his knees so he could study her face, she scowled despite the pain in caused and the fact that she could only see him out of one eye. Did he really have to insult her by getting on his knees? Honestly. Yes, she was a very short person. Rub it in.
"Remember when I told you to move around the truck?" When he nodded, Corey shrugged a little. "I didn't notice the low hanging branches until they'd already made friends with my face." She was trying not to feel uncomfortable under his scrutiny, though it was hard given how she felt like a child whose parent was inspecting an injury thanks to his kneeling decision. It was also impossible to focus on her face with Colt so close again. Damn his mouth looked soft. "And then something bounced off a car, probably a rock or something, and hit me in the eye," she went on, trying to distract herself from looking at his lips. "I don't think it's still in there? But honestly the wind was numbing everything until now so I don't know." She didn't feel like there was anything in there, though. That was a good sign, right?
At his mention of going back so a doctor could look at her, Corey held his arms to prevent him from climbing to his feet and doing something drastic. Like not getting her ice cream. "Hold on there," she said, eyeing him with her one-eyed squint. "Do you want to be forgiven or not?" Her gaze flicked back to the store before she looked at him again. "I believe you promised me ice cream, and its very rude to deny a girl ice cream when you promise," she said, voice low, trying for teasing but a little of that unintentional seductress seeping in.
