Bailey & Saylor | Day Two - Afternoon
Bailey didn't really know HOW exactly she knew that being too close wasn't good. She just kinda did. Maybe it had something to do with listening to the ballistics experts in the courtroom during the trial. It was just something that struck her as extremely important at the moment.
Honestly, Bailey didn't hear him as he told her she didn't need to be obligated to return his words. She would wish she had because she would have ensured him she didn't say them out of obligation. She said them because she realized they were true. But she didn't hear him. She was far to focused on the weapon in her hand and trying to make it steady. It didn't work and the gun shook in her hand even as she closed her eyes.
She didn't even have time to see where he was shot to see if he was alright before the pain shot through her leg. It forced her off her feet. She couldn't even try to put weight on that leg. But she had to get to Saylor. She crawled to him. He was on the ground, with his eyes closed and his white shirt slowly turning more and more red. Her tears were fast and thick as she called his name.
There was only a moment of relief when he answered her. She could hear his pain, his breathlessness. SHe knew she desperately needed to get him help.
"I'm sorry," she told him repeatedly. "I'm so sorry I didn't want to hit you there!" Bailey had already forgotten about her injured leg as she pulled his head into her lap. It took little effort for her to shrug her wrap off her shoulders. The fabric was thin and not particularly useful in trying to help with a wound but maybe it was something?
"HELP! Please Help us!" she yelled out to the hallway in general. there had to be someone nearby. Bailey didn't know if she had her phone or if Saylor had his. All she knew for sure was that he needed medical attention.
"Do you have your phone, Saylor? I don't know who to call!"
