Corey & Colt | Colt's Dorm
Colt couldn't help the way he laughed as she asked about a sorting hat. he shook his head though. It was a fair question. He had also been convinced there was a sorting hat of some kinda.
"Nah. you take a test and then there's an interview part and then you're assigned the dorm. Way less exciting," he told her almost sad to disappoint her. "But the good news you stay in the same dorm every year, so you don't need to pack and unpack everything and it helps with the personalizing, and you stay with the same roommate unless otherwise requested. But they are pretty good with assigning roommates that will get along." He felt the need to assure her of that. He knew both she and Logan were hoping to room together. He for one would be very surprised if either of them ended up in a different house than the one he had already said.
Colt was distracted, thinking about how she could have gotten there with his description. And then trying to convince himself that it was probably a good thing. His description could have been taken very differently and would have been much more complicated. he didn't notice the way Corey shifted until she was much much closer than she had been.
He had moved his arm slightly and found that he was suddenly brushing against her skin. If he was a less experienced man his reaction would have been obvious on his face. A reaction of surprise but not exactly bad surprise. A reaction that showed was touching her sent a shiver through him that he didn't exactly know what to do with. And the tone of her voice! What the fuck was happening?! He had to swallow hard to try to push past the tone of her voice. He was looking for words to answer her question. Words that were quickly caught in his throat as her hand moved to rest on his leg.
He turned to look at her. To meet her eyes. to see if he could see what she was thinking. She was Corey. Corey as in his little brother's best friend. Not the Corey he dreamed about but pretended he didn't. But she was that Corey. they were the same girl and no matter how much he tried to deny it that never changed. His eyes searched her face for a moment before he unconsciously licked his lips.
"What else?" He repeated "Well unlike my brother you never seem to lack a sense of adventure. which works well with that curiosity." he smiled at her as he paused to remember how she took that quality before. "And when I say curiosity I don't mean nosy. I mean you have a passionate drive to learn more and know more. Your curiosity drives your sense of adventure and your opened mindedness makes you accepting of so many people and ideas. But you are still playful and fun. You love to laugh and you love to make other people laugh." He lost himself a little bit as he described her in a way he shouldn't have. Speaking as he held her eyes, smiling softly at her.
