Roxy & Katryn | Day After Game Ends
Nothing in Katryn's demeanor showed any emotion or anything other patience as she waited for the Seelie princess to join her. It was clear that Roxanne was worried about what Katryn might have to say, that she expected her to order her away from Kanye. To tell her any number of truths that Katryn already knew the hurting princess was well aware of. But that wasn't what this was about. Not really.
Katryn could see how much Roxy loved Kanye, how much he loved her. And she could see how bad the two of them were right now. And there were those who would argue they were bad for each other, but the unseelie princess didn't agree with that. They had issues but their issues weren't each other. They were their own. They had their own demons to fight. Seeing how Roxy looked back at Kanye, unsure if she wanted to leave him alone, Katryn spoke gently.
"He will still be here when you return. I am not going to have him whisked away while we walk." The Unseelie princess lead the way out of the hospital wing, knowing the Seelie princess would follow her.
At Roxy's tentative question, Katryn nodded but still said nothing, content in the silence that only held a little bit of tension and belied the other princess's nerves. She led the way to memorial stones, taking the princess past Lucas' stone and stopped before her sister's. For a long moment Katryn stood in silence then she looked at the princess beside her.
"I will not bury my little brother as well." Her dark eyes met the other fae's and could easily read all the pain and hurt and sadness coupled with the guilt in those beautiful eyes.
"I do not wish to bury you either, Roxanne. If you were to perish my brother would surely follow, be it of his own hand or sheer stupidity caused by the grief of losing you too." Katryn rested a hand on the glass stone.
"We all have demons Princess. And we all make choices. We can choose to drown with them or we can learn to dance with them."
Katryn turned away from the stone and held out her hand to the other princess waiting for her to take it. Once Roxy's hand was in her own, Katryn lead her to the nearby gardens, letting her think over the words the elder had spoken, expertly leading her through the maze like hedges until finding the spot she wanted. Deep in the corner of the extravgent gardens was this gazebo, one of Katryn's favorite places.
Drawing Roxy with her to the large stone structure, she sat and gently pulled the younger princess down beside her. Only then did she release her hand and set her intense dark eyes on the other young woman.
"You have been coddled for far too long Roxanne Christalle. Choices have consequences and they shape us into who are and who we will become." Those dark eyes continued to watch her, read her every emotion that passed through her expressive eyes.
"You have allowed others choices to shape you, to make you a victim and to break you." As the princess looked away, Katryn reached out and drew her face back to hers, holding her eyes.
"But what is broken can always be fixed, Roxanne. And made stronger for its time being forged in the fire."
