Re: Loki and Zayden
The longer she sat there, the more everything seemed to sink in. She started remembering more and more, and the feelings and memories made her feel like she needed to curl up in a ball and cry. She had thought she was going to die. Zayden had thought she was going to die. He had held her after she refused, until she couldn't remember anything else. Drawing her legs up to her chest, she felt the sting behind her eyes as all the things she'd told him trickled back through her mind. If it hadn't been for the fact that his scent was everywhere and she could vaguely hear noises from somewhere, she might have actually given into that desire to curl up and cry.
It seemed like an eternity that she sat there, exhausted emotionally and physically, her confusion warring with distress. When she heard the sound of feet moving quickly, her head snapped up, eyes landing on the most beautiful sight she had ever seen. "Zayden!" she cried, not sure if she could make herself scramble off the bed fast enough. Her limbs seemed unusually tangled, which was strange given her shifter and surfer grace, not to mention years of modelling. Luckily, he seemed just as eager to reach her as she was him, and he was able to make himself get across the room faster than Loki could untangle herself.
As his arms came around her, she felt a surge of relief and emotion so strong it brought tears to her eyes. Loki pressed her lips to his, the fierceness and intensity a definite sign of all the things she couldn't quite put into words. As Zayden pulled back, she shook her head, his words causing a tear to slip down her cheek. "No, I'm sorry. I'm so sorry I did that to you," she murmured, hands moving over him as if not quite believing he was real. "I was so scared," she admitted quietly, arms wrapped around him as she breathed him in.
