Ren & Tori | Midday - Day Two
To be honest Ren had barely heard the way she tried to tell him to stop. It wouldn't have mattered, they both knew he had to do this. Even though if he had really stopped to think about it there was a seriously high probability of death either way. He either died from failing Or he drowned. It was probably a good thing he didn't think about it.
The water felt like death trap almost the moment he hit it. He was sinking like a rock and no matter how he threw about his limb in a desperate attempt to do SOMETHING nothing seemed to change. He had had a vague plan of trying to push himself off the bottom when he reached it before he had stepped off the edge but in his panic, the thought was gone.
His panic increased as something grabbed him. He couldn't say what he thought it could possibly be. It wasn't until his head broke the surface that he realized he was being pulled from the water. And then he heard Tori's voice. He calmed quickly after the realization and wrapped his arm around her. Holding on to her was comforting as she swam them to the edge.
Ren was still coughing up water when they finally got close enough to the edge for him to reach it. He didn't hesitate at her command. Ren grabbed the wall like it was his lifeline with one hand. The other didn't move from Tori, Which was probably a good thing. He was still gripping the wall as he gasped out a thank you. there was something in her reply that worried him. She sounded weak.
"Tori, whats wrong?" he asked as he turned his head to look at her, one hand still on the wall and the other still holding her.
