Hobi & Moon | Day Two- Early Evening
Hoseok still hadn't moved from the couch, it was Moon who had moved first, going to get their shoes. Even though the angel knew there was no choice, he had to do this, for both of them. For Moon. Because even if he'd rather die then jump from some place that high, into the cold dark water with the moving glowing things in it, if he just didn't do it or he failed, Moon had to reveal everything. They would all suffer, even more then just losing Hoseok to this cursed game. And Hobi couldn't let that happen.
Moon brought back his shoes and Hobi wordlessly put them on and sat on the couch silent for a long moment. It was Moon's lips on the back of his hand that startled him out of his paralyzing fear and made him look up into Moon's worried eyes. And it was Moon who tried to assure him that it would be okay. Hobi nodded at him, forcing a smile to his lips that was obviously not convincing either of them, so he dropped it. Entwining his hand with his boyfriend's he stood up and swallowed hard. He glanced at his phone, thinking about texting Jingi and the others, but he knew they'd drop everything to come try to help him and he knew having them all there would just make this worse. He and Moon would get through this together. There was no other option.
As they left their dorm Hobi tried not to think about how bad this dare was for him. Sure kids jumped from there all the time, but they weren't afraid of...well literally everything about this dare. Not only was there the heights, there was the water, dark and glowing and the unknown. And it was after dark. It didn't help that Hoseok was not the strongest swimmer and he had no idea what tides meant or did. It was pretty much his worst nightmare. As they walked, heads down, avoiding everyone else who was milling about, whispering or dealing with their own dares and consequences, Hobi wasn't quite aware of how tightly he was clinging to Moon's hand. The words kept ringing in his ears, that he'd let them down.
That he'd let Moon down.
It should probably have been harder to get to the Peaks, but it seemed fate was on their side and they weren't stopped or harassed by any of the guardians patrolling. Although really would they have stopped them? People were dropping dead if they didn't do their dares, and no one wanted that. As they walked along the path in silence, neither seemed to know what to say, lost in their thoughts. The cool breeze off the bay ruffled Hoseok's hair and he pulled his sweater closer, suddenly chilled to the bone.
Too soon they reached the top of the cliff, the only light came from the moon which was almost full, and the burst of brilliant twinkling stars, illuminated by the gorgeous colors of the ley lines that made Mystic Veil so powerful. The couple stopped in the center of the cliff, still holding each other's hands tightly as the breeze tousled their hair. Hoseok turned to face Moon, dark eyes fastened on his beautiful face. He brought one hand up to Moon's face, soft fingertips gentle against his face.
"I love you," he said softly. "More then anything or anyone else in the world, Yoon Moon-sik." The empath stepped closer, releasing his hand so both of his hands could cradle Moon's face in them. "You are my moon and stars."
