Ailee & Paine | Early Evening - Day Three
Ailee knew she had to get her nerves under control. They would do her no good in this situation and all her fears would be much closer to reality if she actually lost this race. Especially with as unhappy as her boyfriend currently was. Of course, he was completely in the right for being unhappy. It wasn't even his dare and he was being asked to risk his car. The car he loved more than pretty much anything else.
She breathed a deep calming breath before she actually got into the car. She had been in this car many times but it was very odd sitting in the driver's seat. She was already setting about adjusting the mirrors and the seat when Paine told her too. She nodded with his instruction. She could hear how much effort it was taking for him to keep his voice calm. She tried to focus on the feel of the car. She wasn't a bad driver by any means but she had never driven this car. The music helped. The sound of the beat working to block out some of her anxiety as she tested her ability to handle the speed and the curves. She followed his instructions and his pointers, usually trying the things he told her to a couple of times until she felt comfortable with it. She was taking the goddess this race wasn't exactly nearby.
It was his hand on her thigh that really helped dial back her anxiety. It showed he wasn't too pissed with her. He relaxed just a little bit to start giving her some instructions on more than just driving the car. Ailee nodded with his words. She remembered the race he had brought her two had the interaction between him and the other racers had been. She could mimic that. It was surprising to some just how much acting was used in modeling. That part she was at least confident she could do.
"I do that," she told him glancing over to meet his eyes for a moment. "It would probably help if I wasn't half convinced you're gonna break up with me when this all over," she added. She was half teasing, half actually trying to see what he was feeling. Though she was hoping he wouldn't actually tell her if that was a possibility. It would do nothing for her nerves. SHe looked at him again, bringing a smile to her face for a moment.
There were only a few minutes left of this drive before they arrived at the location. Ailee spent it focusing on trying to get into the right headspace.
"Ready?" she asked him as she stopped the car. She had managed to force the anxiety from her voice. She sounded every bit of confidence as she didn't feel. She ran her fingers through her hair as she got out of the car and pulling on the confident badass persona she used often in her work.
