Kennedy & Tiar | Day 2, Late Night
Tiarnach Finnigan had known, without a shadow of a doubt, that Kennedy would be pissed. That the siren would think he'd completely lost his mind. That she would think he was just trying to play hero. Her annoyance was annoying him. "You're an Elemental, Kennedy! Your powers...they haven't been seen for millennia." Jesus, the merman was waiting for the eye roll that would go along with the look of pure aggravation. Despite that, Tiar kept trying to get thru Kenny's thick skull. "I have no idea what this has been like for you...discovering what you can do. Nor do I know what it's been like having your life revolve around this legendary ideal."
The young man shrugged his shoulders a little bit before he continued, "What I do know is that those powers have reappeared for a reason. And I'm betting it's pretty damn important." Tiar's words were firm, and they held a true belief in them. "Something's coming. Maybe soon....maybe 50 years from now. Whatever it is, you need to be here for it." Before Kennedy could speak up, he interrupted her, "What if the others have no chance to succeed without you?"
The two of them fell silent for a moment, and Kennedy's eyes began to shimmer in the moonlight. The young merman felt his heart soften a little, because he knew just how afraid his companion was; how she found those special powers she possessed such an abhorrence. "You can't die, Ken." The youngest Finnigan took a deep breath and then pulled his phone from his pocket. Stepping forward, he held it out so that the siren could take it, but when she didn't, he pressed it into her palm "The code is 80308. Call Cyrus to come and get me...."
At that point Kennedy lost it. A lot of yelling ensued, and Tiar just let her get it all out. When she finally fell silent, tears streaming down her face, the young man asked her if she trusted him. He was answered with a sound of disbelief and another roll of the eyes. "I'm serious. I just....I can't explain why, or what, but this whole situation isn't adding up for me. Call it a hunch."
