Carter & Sloan | Midday - Day One
As he tried to tease her that complicated wasn't bad, his smile made her stomach do that flip flop thing again. Goddamn it Carter. Of course he was going to be adorable and sweet about something like this. And then as he teased her about his addictive lips she just stared at him, as he continued to tease her.
"That's what I'm afraid of," she mumbled, dropping her eyes from his.
Sloan knew that he was trying to lighten the mood, because she was sure no one wanted the weirdo goth girl to kiss them while she was trying not to cry in shame and embarrassment. This just felt like Darren all over again. He'd seemed sweet and kind but it turned out he hadn't been. And that whole situation had just crushed her. Mortified her that everyone else had known how he really felt but she'd been fooled. Like her mother had been. Like they all were about everything else.
She barely noticed that Carter had moved them into a classroom, until he commented on making sure there were no 'wild kissing rumors.' Part of her wanted to know if that was for his benefit or hers. And she knew it was an unfair thought. Carter wasn't Darren. But that didn't make trusting him or his intentions any easier. And even though that incident had happened her junior year in high school, it had carried with her into college. He'd dated her for months just to betray her like that. For personal gain.
Pale blue eyes searched his face, looking for some hidden motive, but finding none as he told her he would kiss her first, but the game was very specific. She nodded and wiped at her eyes. The game was very specific. She had to kiss him. Sloan moved closer to him, suddenly feeling very awkward. This was not how first kisses were supposed to be. They were supposed to be magical and with feeling. Not fear and nerves. The little witch slid her hand up to his shoulder, standing on tip toes, even in her black platform shoes. As he lowered his head for her one hand curled into his shirt getting a steady hand hold as her other hand moved to his face, to guide his face where she needed it, considering his much taller height.
Their lips a mere breath apart she swallowed her nerves taking no chances with this demanding magick in the way she kissed him, pulling him down to her as she pressed up into him, lips moving against his. She was unprepared for the feelings that swept through her, the warmth that seemed to spread from his lips to hers, the way his hand on her back felt heated even through her shirt.
Sloan had meant to only kiss him a few moments and be done with it, go hide in her room in shame and cry it out. But as his lips moved against hers, the witch found she wasn't letting go of him, her own lips parting for his, kissing him as he kissed her, in a way she'd never been kissed before.
