Clary & Malachi | Morning - Day Three
Ther was so much about this game that was unpredictable. She knew what would happen if she refused her dare but she didn't know how long she would have between refusing and the inevitable consequence. At least it seemed like it wasn't triggered by the simple decision not to go through with the dare. Clary had been giving the option of choosing Truth. Apparently, there were rules about how many truths there could be in a row. Not that it would have mattered. She was quite sure the truth that the game would want her to reveal was the same one her dare was trying to expose.
Her clan, the Arch Angles, had long been assumed to be extinct. She would not do anything to change that view. Walking through the school in next to nothing with her marks unglamoured would certainly change that view. She was suddenly quite happy with her choice of outfit earlier today. She had however left her very confused friend on their way to get something to eat. She clearly didn't remember asking Clary the question or giving her the dare that she should have known nothing about. Clary could still her friend calling her name down the hallway. the brunette ignored her as she turned a corner and then several more. She stopped by a quiet window for a moment to think. if she refused, which she knew she would, she would die which meant she should make sure everything would be alright before she actually refused. What needed to be addressed?
Malachi. The Nephilim turned quickly to the direction of his room. Hopefully, he was in his room. It was critical that she see him first; critical That he knew that what was about to happen was not a result of the curse he believed was on him. This was something different and she would not have him carry undeserved guilt for her decision. She knocked with urgency when she reached his door which was probably why he opened the door as quickly as he did. Clary had to stop herself from releasing a sigh of relief when she saw him. At least she wouldn't have to hunt all over campus for him or fight with him to open the door.
Instead, she said nothing for a moment and her green eyes took in his face. There was still some bruising from when he ran into the door but it was starting to fade. There was only a beat of hesitation before she leaned forward to kiss his lips briefly.
"I need you to know that what happens next is not your fault," She told him after she broke away. She hesitated to explain more. She was fairly certain that once she verbalized her decision she wouldn't have any more time.
