Lyrica & Devon | AFTER MIDNIGHT
Devon didn't even know how to respond as she explained the places her family owned. Sure Devon hadn't come from a POOR family but he hadn't come from a family that had houses all over the world. It wasn't until she mentioned something about letting big stars stay here that he started to remember who exactly her father was. he was some really big producer, wasn't he? For music? Wait... OH! it had clicked. Really, Devon didn't care who her parents were, but it did make the 6 houses make ALOT more sense.
Devon listened intently as she explained her parents love life. He didn't know what to say. Lyrica acted like it was normal but he really wasn't sure it was. It couldn't feel good to think that you were brought in to the world just to prove something was real when it wasn't really real. He didn't say that though. Honestly, he didn't think she would take that well right now.
Instead, he focused on how it felt to have his arms wrapped around her. The way the city looked as she leaned against him. they way her fiery hair smelt as the breeze moved through it. It was better than all his dreams of her could have ever been. Honestly, there was a HUGE part of him that kept trying to convince himself that he was still only dreaming. But he wasn't he. He hadn't been every moment he had spent with her recently.
He laughed softly as she referenced his lyrics. Apparently, it was good lyrics. He tightened his arms around her slightly, putting as much feeling as he could into the way he held her. Devon wasn't good with words. At least not spoken words.
"Lyrica, there is nothing I have ever been more sure about," he told her. He leaned down to press his lips to the curve of her neck. Part of him really wanted to turn her to face him, so he could kiss her properly. The other part loved the way she was leaning against his chest. It was comfortable and intimate at once.
He was quiet for a moment before he finally gave in to the urge to turn her around. His arms wrapped back around her when she faced him. He smiled at her before he leaned in to kiss her sweetly.
"I'm sure there is a much smoother way to ask this," he started. He hesitated for a mere moment before he caught her eyes. "Would it be alright if I actually called you my girlfriend?" He tried really hard to not show that he was nervous about asking her that but it was important to be clear right?
