Lyrica & Devon | AFTER MIDNIGHT
She didn't know why Devon kissing her was so different then the way anyone else kissed her. Maybe it was because he didn't kiss her because of who she was, but because of HER. Not who her father was, the blog or publications she wrote for, but because of who she was as a person.
And maybe he was the first.
His answer to her offer to go somewhere else was answered quickly and she was smiling at him as he kissed her quickly the affectionate peck on the lips sweet and familiar and something she found she wanted more and more. The shifter handed the guitar to the guy he had borrowed it from who looked like had so many questions, but Devon wrapped his arm around her waist, leaning into her, his eyes on hers, asking her if she had someone in mind.
"I do," she answered as she leaned in with a smile and kissed him, her own sweet quick press of the lips. At his pause about her things, she sighed. Her coat and purse was inside, but she didn't really need them.
"Maria can grab my coat and purse," she answered, leaning into him. "I have everything important with me."
They began to walk away from the club, Lyrica leading the way the couple falling into a comfortable and sweet comforting silence. It was a few blocks before Lyrica stopped in front of a large skyscrapper and she pulled him him into the shining mirrored building. The security guard glanced their way, then back down at the book he was reading, buzzing her in without even a thought. Devon's confusion was clear, but Lyrica didn't say anything as she pulled him into the elevator, pulled out a key a hidden compartment in the elevator, then turned.
The elevator started to ascend and she turned back to him. "Relax, its my father's building." The fox leaned in and kissed his lips lingeringly as the elevator moved up the many floor, to stop at their destination. Lyrica pulled him out with her, directly into the penthouse apartment her family rarely used. She knew her parents were with their lovers in other locales, had in fact planned on staying here anyway. Kicking off her heels by the door, she smiled at Devon who looked very out of his element.
"It's my family penthouse," she explained with a sly grin, teasing him as she took his hands and lead him through the extravagant abode, to the outside pool and sitting area to over look the brightly lit city. "My parents are with their lovers and rarely stay here anyway. Its more for show."
The fox let go of his hands and walked to the banister and looked out at the brightly lit city.
"You're the first person I've ever had here," she said softly. "Besides Maria."
