Lennox & Sev | About 11pm
There might have been a tinge of hurt that he hadn't told her any of these major changes in his life. They used to tell each other. Even the most trivial thoughts and feelings. THere used to be no secrets between them. But used to be was the key part of that sentence. She couldn't really blame him. She had spent the better part of the last three years actively trying to distance herself from him. She had no right to hope that he would just start talking to her like none of that had happened.
"Everyone always has things going on. But I still want to hear whats going on for you," she told him. It was really the first time that she had verbalized her commitment to rebuilding their relationship, even just their friendship. He continued, voicing the fear that it could all just be taken away. She wasn't surprised to hear that he focused on that. Sev always worried when things would be ripped away from him. But the fact that he was actually saying, acknowledging it in a way he hadn't really before, did surprise her. It was just another reminder of how much they had grown and changed over the years.
The look on her face changed some as he focused on talking about Byron. It was clear Sev admired him and she couldn't help the smile that replaced the momentary look of concern she had about not knowing. it was SO good for him to have a real role model. She loved hearing the way Sev talked about him and it sounded like he was doing great things.
"Skylar? How old is she?" she asked, assuming his cousin was a child or young teen if Byron needed help taking care of her. "How many cousins do you have?" she asked, suddenly realizing that she didn't really know. He used to avoid talking about any to do with family like the plague.
