Lennox & Sev | About 11pm
Lennox would be lying if she tried to deny how good he looked in the beautiful suit he was wearing. Of course, she always thought Sev looked good. she always had. He turned to smile at her. A real smile that always made her melt. Lennox didn't really know when her feelings had become more than best friends. It felt like it was so long ago. Maybe they had never really been JUST best friends but they were too young to know it at first. The feelings were impossible to ignore now. Three years apart and she was finally admitting to herself that she was still in love with him. It had been easier to pretend when she was forcing herself to stay mad at him.
Her own smile matched his as he accepted the glass she offered. Admitting to herself that she was still in love with him was far easier than trying to undo the damage she had done in the last three years. It honestly still amazed her that he was willing to be there for her at all. A look of confusion crossed her face when he mentioned his cousin. Cousin? Sev didn't talk about his family much, if at all. She raised an eyebrow and tilted her head slightly as she looked at him. She didn't have to ask. he knew her well enough that he started to explain the moment he says that face.
Lennox's blue eyes followed where Sev indicated but only for a moment until he mentioned his granddamne's death. she looked back at him quickly the surprise clear on her face. she knew Sev wasn't close to her at all but he hadn't even mentioned. And then he kept talking about his cousin's goals of reuniting the family. Did that mean Sev could actually have the family he always wanted? There was hope in her eyes as he finished talking, at least until he called himself a charity case.
"You are not a charity case, Sev.," she told him firmly. Her voice softened some as she continued. "You clearly do belong. Brooklyn doesn't event charity cases." Lennox hadn't been surprised to see Sev here. She had helped Brooklyn with the guest list. Not that she had asked WHY she was inviting Sev. Lennox worried that would show too much interest.
"Why haven't you told me about all these family changes?" she asked, turning back to the fact that she was more surprised that she knew nothing of all the changes in his life when he had been so supportive through hers.
