Cara & Hawke | Grounds of Campus | Sometime near(ish) midnight
Cara honestly had lost track of herself a little bit while out engaged in New Year's Eve shenanigans. She'd started out being invited to a really fancy party some Olympic person was throwing, and while the free champagne was a nice warm up, it had gotten pretty dull. She loved talking with fellow athletes on occasion, but most of the time they were a bit too....serious for her liking. And all of the guys just wanted to brag about themselves, ignoring her own accomplishments, which was soooooo not in anymore. The tigress had excused herself fairly early, deciding there had to be more fun things to do tonight than talk about training regimens and upcoming competitions. Sure, she worked hard, but she liked to play hard too.
Despite being dressed pretty formally, given that the original party was one of those fancy ball type deals, Cara didn't feel uncomfortable walking around in what she was wearing. It didn't bother her that her attire was a little more involved than what she saw others in either. If you looked hot, which she did given how the dress made her boobs look, then you looked hot. The end. She made her way to August Knight's house, of all the 'stops', which was consequently where she had drank more fancy champagne and a few things she couldn't remember the name of. But they tasted expensive. Honestly, throughout the night, she had lost track of what was handed to her and therefore she'd downed as time wore on. It's not like Cara had gone anywhere that that type of carelessness would be dangerous, and it was New Year's Eve!
A little before midnight, after chatting with a few friends for awhile, she realized there was one person not out and about having fun tonight like everyone else. Well honestly he could have been, she didn't know, but she had a strong hunch. Deciding he deserved a New Year's kiss, she'd left that party too and headed back to campus. (Via uber, of course.) The driver was nice enough to stop so she could pick up some champagne and another bottle of some alcohol (she hadn't looked at the label) so that there could be a New Year's toast too. Pleased with herself, she'd given the driver a tip when she all but tumbled out of the car, then made quick work of finding a very specific guardian.
Her time hanging out with Hawke had also afforded her a certain amount of time with the guards and guardians that now kept close watch over the school, so it was no surprise that she was told where he was on his patrol without any coercion needed. A quick stop by her dorm for her bow, because who didn't want to play with arrows while intoxicated, and she was on her way. Despite the heels she wore, she was still a shifter and therefore still able to navigate the uneven terrain of the forest floor in them. However, given how much she'd had to drink, this navigation was not smooth. Nor was it silent. On the contrary, she was like an elephant despite her small size, and every step resulted in several rustles and loud snaps as she finally set eyes on a familiar golden head.
"Happy New Year!" she announced as she moved towards him, her trademark grin on her face. It was midnight right? She'd made it just on time, right?
