His heart skipped a beat with her flirty smile.Even the shyness he could see was so wholly her. He was still so in love with her. There had never been anyone but her. He had regretted his decision to walk away quickly after he made but he had still been convinced that she was better off without him. Now he had no idea in that regard. But he did now that he was not the bad influence that he had once been.
His smile was a little more confident as he settled on the sand next to her. She had agreed to let him join her. He was taking that as a small win for now. Of course, he knew in the back of his head that the likely hood of Hannah actually turning him away was pretty much slim to none. She was far too nice for that.
"your welcome" he returned. It had been Hannah, who had taught him the importance of good manners. It had never been something he was too concerned about before then. Now he had seen how those skills could open doors in a way he hadn't thought was possible. "I thought maybe we could catch up a little. We didn't get to talk during that storm," he said, he was trying to tread a little carefully. He didn't want her to turn the other way, after all. but it was true. they had spent many hours together during that storm but it had been focused on getting her and her son home safely. Really he had gotten to know Jamie more than he had been able to catch up with her.
"What did you decide to major in?" he asked, it was a terrible question but maybe it was a good start? There had always been so many options for her when they were young. he had no idea which direction she had decided to go in.
