Re: Luke and Hope | Bonfire | 8pm
Luke felt a sort of lightness as he mingled during the party today. He was never truly 'light' in the whole sense of the word, but today felt better. Spending time with Hope, getting out and mixing with new people rather than hiding in his own memories. It felt, dare he say, good.
The bikini Hope had chosen had definitely been a surprise. He'd tried to keep his eyes from widening when he saw her in it, but Luke was still a male on the basest of insides. It had been hard not to touch her after that, both as a sort of signal to anyone who might be looking that she was definitely spoken for and just because his fingers itched to do so. Her skin was warm from the sun, her smile as warm as the sun, and he felt overwhelmed. It was truly a new sensation, maybe brought on now that some of his guards were down and crumbled, but Luke didn't really stop to consider why. He was just enjoying it for what it was.
As he led Hope to the bonfire, that warm skin was definitely more distracting than anything else he'd been thinking earlier. Still, it was Hope, and he reined himself in so he was more in check. The heat, the revelry, it had loosened some of his control. He had to get it back. "Hmm?" he asked, realizing Hope had spoken. "Oh no. I'm not. I'm having a good time actually," he replied with a smile. "Is that so hard to believe?" he asked, squeezing her to him in emphasis.
