THREAD: Shira & Ha Nuel
WHO: Shira & Ha Nuel WHEN: Sunday afternoon; May 28th WHERE: One of the practice/recording studios on campus WHAT: Osiris paired the duo up on a project that is a large part of their grade. Neither are very happy about it. RATING: There might be bad language. Who knows with these two.
Of course Shira was the first to the studio she had reserved for the project she had been assigned in her production class. The fact that it was Ha Nuel she had been paired with made her stomach twist and turn. Of course she'd gone to Professor Ziyad to beg for a different partner, telling him an edited version of their history, but to no avail. He'd merely told her he'd chosen their partners based on experience in their genre and in this class, Ha Nuel was the best choice to help her produce this song. She was sure Ha Nuel had also approached the professor separately to plead their case. However Professor Ziyad was firm in his decision. So far most of their work on this project was separate, sending emails back and forth, but they'd avoided spending any actual time together.
Shira had spoken at length to Orika about the situation, finally breaking down to tell her the whole story. Someone had to know it all so they could give her advice on what to do. And once the whole story had been spilled, Orika's advice was for her to stop tip toeing around him. And that she needed to deal with her own guilt, about more then just not talking Miho and Jae-Hwa out of their misguided attempt to protect Ha Nuel by hurting him. It had also been Orika who pushed the more personal song, instead of her poppy go-to fluffy song idea. So she brought the lyrics to a song she'd titled "Oar." It wasn't specifically a song about Miho, but the water theme, the sad tone, the pain in the song was there.
The time ticked by and Shira was actually afraid that Ha Nuel wouldn't show. She fussed with her knit hat as she waited, pulling at her top and smoothing down her hair. A soft nervous sigh slipped from her as she picked up her pencil and hovered over the lyrics to her song. She hummed the melody she'd imagined, as she went over the lyrics again in her head.
