It did not escape his attention that this was the first time that Elle was in his dorm. They (or she?) had seemed to always avoid being alone together. He had assumed it was because she didn't want to fall into some repeat of history. He was thinking absently about this as he closed the door behind her and she turned to him and started speaking, not letting him get a word in while she rambled off her feelings.
This left Killian to stare at her with wide eyes, unsure as to what to say to the emotional outpouring. For a long moment he just stared at her, but then he couldn't help the laugh that escaped him. Were they both really so awkward and ridiculous that they couldn't figure out how to make this work? Had they both really thought the other was over them? The laugh bubbled up into a fit of ironic laughter that he couldn't control. Dear Goddess they were fucking ridiculous.
He managed to stop laughing, but was smiling that ironic smile as he looked down at the beautiful red head.
"Elle Saunders, I've loved you since I was eight years old. There has never been a time I didn't want you." There was a smile on his plush lips as he stepped closer to her, one hand coming up to her face gently, the other to the key around her neck.
"I have never taken this lock off. And I won't, not until you give me back the key and tell me you don't love me anymore." His hand slid down her body, then around her waist, pulling her into him with the hand cradling her face and the one now at the small of her back. His lips hovered over hers for a moment, eyes flicking from her lips back to her eyes.
"I've always been yours Elle. There has never been anyone but you." His lips crashed into hers with a passion and tenderness that had been missing for years.
