Parker had already tried several times to see Lola since she had been returned. He had been turned away each time. Originally he thought it was all just bad timing. After the third time he decided that she was clearly avoiding him. Why she was he had no idea. It was good he didn’t give up easily.
He had resorted to reaching out to her sister, who told him where she was today. He hesitated only a second before he let himself in to the art space. Immediately he thought he had missed her again. The music playing was not anything Lola would normally tolerate. She had the loud angry music he played. But with a few steps his eyes fell on Lola, absorbed in her painting. The music alone was enough to tell him she was not ok but it was the paintings that really did. The two completed ones on the held his attention. They were haunting and much darker than anything he had seen her do before.
this space is taken Parker didn’t respond when Lola spoke. It was another flag that she was not alright to him. Lola didn’t normally mind sharing her space with other artists. Before she turned to face him his eyes moved over her injuries. He grew more concerned as she quickly tried to hide them from his view.
"Don't do that with me." he told her softly as she tried to say she was ok. There was no judgement in his eyes as he looked at her. He didn’t have a look of guilt or pity on his face as he looked her. He was clearly concerned for her but he didn’t want her to lie to him. It didn’t take an idiot to see that she was not ok. Everything about her screamed that she was not ok. The concern on his face clearly increased as she swayed slightly on her feet and reached for the easel to steady herself. Parker crossed the distance quickly, reaching to place his hand gently on her arm to steady her further.
"Again, clearly not." He told her. He wasn’t going to let her insist that she was alright when it clearly wasn't the case. What good would that do? Besides, if there was anyone in her life that she should be able to talk to it was him. Sure they weren’t dating anymore but despite that of all her friends, he had the dark streak they didn’t. He could handle it.
"DO you need to sit?" he asked choosing to focus on her immediate wellbeing at the moment.
