Damn it was good to be home.
Morgan didn't really pause to consider exactly when she had started to consider Maddie's loft as 'home' at the moment either. It just felt so good to be somewhere other than the hospital or school. She didn't even care that it was still difficult to move in some ways, and she still had to take it easy (something she wasn't entirely convinced hadn't been invented as some kind of torture to pay her back for all the mean things she'd done) It was nice to be in apartment, with Bonnie and Clyde set up gingerly around her, not having to listen to the oppressive beep of machines or the ramblings of strangers. Here she could relax. Here she could feel at home. Here she could heal.
Since she wasn't going to go out anywhere, Morgan had chosen a simple classic tee, loose because of her healing wounds but still low cut enough to tempt Maddie. There was no blood or oozing sores, but her body was still tender in some areas; a fact that had proven problematic for their sex lives. She had never crossed paths with her brother either, surprisingly. Morgan had been sure Grant would come around to gloat after he'd saved her, but he'd remained a mysterious figure. It was just as well. If Maddie had met her dickhead of a brother then he'd surely run; faster than she still feared he would anyway.
A book was open in her lap and a mug of tea was beside her on the table as she read, waiting for her boyfriend to come back in the from the kitchen. She was totally immersed in whatever she was reading, so much so that the knock on the door seemed way louder than it was. Jumping slightly, she winced at the suddenly movement, glancing at the door curiously. "Baby? Are you expecting anyone?"
