Thread: Maddox & Chelsea
Who: Maddox & Chelsea
When: Monday, January 16th, 2012; afternoon after classes
Where: Maddie's apartment in Mystic Veil
What: Best friend time.
Rating: Medium(?)

Maddie had invited his best friend Chels over to hang out after classes were done and of course she had accepted. He got out of class earlier then her and let her know through text message that he would be at the apartment, going to cook them somthing to eat for dinner. He text Tylen too, just to let him know what was going on for the evening. It wasn't that he had to check in with his best friend and bandmate, but he wanted to let the crow know he would be home and hanging out, since Tylen ended up crashing at the apartment more often then not, especially when he didn't have any super early morning classes. Upon entering the apartment, he was greeted by Bonnie & Clyde as soon as he unlocked the door and he couldn't help the easy way he greeted the two dog. Technically the lighter dog was Bonnie as she belonged to Lennox, but the dogs lived here with Maddie because they would have been heartbroken to be separated.

"Hey guys," he greeted them as he stooped to pet them, their little butts wagging as they snuffled and snorted at him. The dogs were so happy he was home they wagged their whole back ends, jumping over each other to get closer to him. Standing up, he signaled them he was going into the kitchen and they followed, their excitement obvious in their little bodies. Moving through the entry way into the open loft. The apartment was very eclectic in its design, with lots of art and satirical religious imagery. moving into the little alcove that was the kitchen, the dogs still on his heels, he stopped to feed them, before opening his fridge and trying to decide what to make for him and Chels to eat. He was already starving. And he didn't feel like he wanted to cook. "Fuck it," he muttered and reached for his phone, dialing the number of the Thai place around the corner.

"It's Maddie," he greeted the man who picked up. They knew him, as it was as very small town, and he was a townie. "Can I have my normal doubled with an order of spring rolls, delivered please?" After a moment, he hung up and dropped onto the couch, the dogs joining him. Sure Bonnie was supposed to be his sister's dog, but really they were both his. Bonnie curled up at his feet, and Clyde crawled up next to his chest, head laying down on Maddie's chest and promptly falling asleep. Flicking on the T.V. Maddie flicked through the channels, lazy like until he heard the knock on the door. It was too early for the Thai food and yelled out, "It's unlocked," knowing it was probably Chels.

Chelsea was not going to pass up an opportunity to hang with her best friend. It had been far too long since she'd gotten to spend some quality time with Maddie. She'd seen him back at the Halloween party, but that whore that had broken his heart had swooped in and that had been the end of that. Her best friend had low impulse control, and she knew the dancer was one of those girls even guys with the strongest willpower couldn't ignore. They had talked a bit before the holidays, but Chels had been preoccupied with family and such so didn't get to spend as much time with him as she wanted. She was dying to ask Maddie if he was back with the halfbreed, but that wasn't something you sent in a text message. Not to mention she didn't want to start a useless argument. If he wanted her to know then he'd tell her. Maybe tonight they could catch each other up on everything.

Once classes were over, she made her way to his apartment, not even bothering to stop back by her dorm before she left. Chelsea had a little bag in her car for impromptu overnighters, though if she crashed with her friend like she figured then she knew he'd let her borrow whatever she needed. It didn't take long before she arrived at Maddie's apartment, and after a knock, she heard his voice calling out for her to enter. Chels was already opening the door anyway since she didn't really have those boundary issues with her best friend, and she grinned as the two little dogs jumped off and raced over as soon as she stepped inside.

"Hey babies," she cooed at them happily, stooping to scratch their ears and along their wiggling bodies thoroughly before she stood up and headed towards the couch; the dogs trotting behind as if she were the canine Pied Piper. "It smells suspiciously undomesticated in here. Weren't you supposed to be cooking for me?" she teased him, pulling a pout to her lips as she placed a hand on her hip. "Some best friend you are."

As the dogs jumped off of him and bounded to the door to greet Chelsea, Maddie called after them, "Traitors!" Of course they paid no mind to him, assaulting Chels with their wiggling bodies and licking her anywhere they could reach. He called to her, "You keep stealing my babies, I'll stop inviting you over." It was an empty threat, and they both knew it and he scooted up, abandoning his quest to find SOMETHING on the television, and faced his best friend as she pouted at him for being undomesticated. Grinning at her, he patted the couch and the dogs jumped up.

"Not you two," he scolded, pointing back at the floor. "Ladies sit first." The two dogs jumped to the floor to let Chels sit down. Both watched him for permission, which only hold out for so long. "Ladies first," he said and Bonnie jumped up and curled up in Chels lap. "I swear that dog is more yours then my sister's."

Another knock at the door and he grinned at Chelsea. "I was lazy and hungry, so I ordered us Thai food." Padding barefoot to the door, he pulled the money out of his back pocket and paid the man at the door, taking the two giant bags of food. Maddie could put away food like it was an endangered species and Chels wasn't that far behind him. Thanking the man, he closed the door and brought the bags over to the coffee table and looked down at Clyde sprawled in his seat. "I am not sharing my peanut chicken with you fatty," he informed the darker bulldog. Scooping up the dog, he put him on the floor, while he ate.

"I got all of our favorites," he informed Chels. "So dig in."

"What can I say? They have good taste. And you need to up your game, obviously." Winking at him, she ignored the empty threat, not even dignifying it with a response. Maddie would never be able to do that and they both knew it. Watching as the dogs jumped up when he indicated she sit down, Chelsea laughed as he ordered them back to the floor. There was no mistaking the look they gave him as they jumped down, so the blonde wasted no time taking her seat so they could get back up where they belonged.

Running a hand over Bonnie's head, she grinned. "I'm sure she does the same thing when Lennox is over," she remarked, but she wasn't forgetting about Maddie's lack of food. Before she could tease him again, there was another knock at the door, and his explanation made more sense. "Ordering me food does not express your love as well," she called, grinning as she waited for him to bring the order over. Chelsea was starving, however, so waiting for a meal to finish probably wouldn't have been possible. Leaning forward, she chuckled as Maddie scolded the dog, shaking her head as she gave Clyde a reassuring scratch on the head. "See those insults are why they like me better, Mads. You need to work on that."

Ducking in case he retaliated with a playful swat, Chels began to investigate what was in the bags before he even gave her permission to dig in. "You might have redeemed yourself just a little. But only because I'm too hungry to stay mad," she mused, pulling out containers as she spoke.

"Ordering you food, TOTALLY expresses my love for you," he defended himself. "Just because I didn't want to slave over the stove in a frilly pink apron, doesn't mean I love you any less." He stuffed some peanut chicken in his mouth.

"I was just lazy," he added, his mouth full as he spoke. Swallowing, he continued. "You're still totally my favorite. Just don't tell Xanthe, mmkay?" The truth was that he couldn't really pick between Chels and Xanthe if his life depended on it, but Xanthe was that life long friend he had for LIFE and Chels, even though he didn't know her as long, they just GOT each other.

He tossed the remote at her. "Your turn to drive the bus," he added. "There is nothing good on and I don't want to be responsible for putting something shitty on." Clyde made whimpering noises at him from the floor, eyeballing his chicken. Maddie scolded him gently.

"You little begger!" Then he pointed his plastic fork at Chelsea. "This is YOUR fault, because you give him food!"

Chelsea sighed, rolling her eyes as if she truly did not understand how he got by day to day. "See, that's why you don't have a girlfriend, Maddie. You need to be retrained." Her eyes were twinkling, however, since she knew full well the REAL reason that Maddox didn't have a girlfriend. They were both the same in that regard. She didn't elaborate on her tease, however, since she was busy shoving noodles and meat into her mouth. Sexy, but she didn't care.

"Lazy? Shocker," she mused, grinning as he continued. There was no way in HELL she'd tell the other girl that little tidbit, though she wasn't exactly afraid. It was more that Chelsea knew he was just being playful. He loved them both the same. "Your secret will be safe with me so long as next time you put some effort into it for me." Winking, she casually tossed a piece of chicken on the ground, acting nonchalant afterwards in the hope that Maddox wouldn't notice Clyde diving towards it.

Making a grunt as he tossed the remote her way, Chels let it hit the couch as she finished the bite that was on her utensils. No food could be wasted! "Why do you think I'd choose any better?! I barely watch television," she mused, reaching for the channel button with her free pinky; which was about the only free finger she had at the moment. Her eyes were on the screen for a second, before Maddie's exclamation drew her attention to the floor.

Looking up, Chelsea widened her eyes, acting as if she were shocked and guilty all at the same time. "I have absolutely no idea what you are talking about!"
