She didn’t want to think about that but it was kind of undeniable. He did however have a very good point that it was not the time to figure out what was going on.
Lourdes's confusion was clear as he tried to direct her. First she had no idea how he knew enough to actually direct her. Second how was she supposed to think VERY CLEARLY without over thinking? Third, tell all the dead to do what? She still hadn’t gotten over the fact that the dead listened to her with letting him go.
The panic in her head went silent when he touched her. She had never expanded someone in her head like this. Only his firm contact on her wrist kept her from pulling away. At least until the calm came over her. His voice in her head suddenly made sense and was able to cut through her panic and fear. She didn’t understand or want this ability but it suddenly made sense that she could do what he was asking of her.
Lourdes turned their attention to the room around her. She took an even breath as she focused her attention on the dead of the room. This time there was something new. Just before they began to rise it felt like something grabbed hold. She could feel the attention of the dead and her control of them. The dead rose to their feet just a moment later, attackers and students alike.
fight. she told them. protect the innocent It felt like she should be more specific with who she wanted the dead to fight or protect but as the corpse started to move it was clear they understood her meaning.
