McKinley & Kennedy - The Great Hall
There were many days where Kennedy loved the bond she shared with her twin. She didn't mind knowing when McKinley was in trouble, didn't mind the prickle when something truly emotional was upsetting her. Hell, she didn't even mind when she was hurt and some phantom pain would ache on her own body. It had happened when they were younger and Kinley had broken her arm at school. Kennedy had been home sick, but her arm had suddenly stung and began to ache. It was a cool reminder that she was never alone, and she'd come to rely on it; kind of like a sixth sense.
Right now, however, the phantom pain and the tingling prickle were telling her that this was very very serious. She could feel a faint burn on herself, which meant it was twenty times worse for McKinley. Her anxiety cranked up several notches, and she felt something else. Some sort of primal energy. It was crackling and dark and alive, and it was getting worse the more Kennedy felt her twin slipping away. Tears filled her eyes, but she bit them back. She wasn't going to cry. She was going to get McKinley out of here. Alive.
When her sister collapsed, however, the tears began to slip down her face as she clutched her desperately. "No. I'm not leaving you!" she practically yelled, her panic and despair evident even as her words choked. "We're both getting out or neither of us are," she added stubbornly, feeling that sensation build more and more as she held Kinley tightly. There was a crazed desperation in her clear eyes, and the pain there was as much from the situation as it was from that sensation feeling like it was suffocating her; feeling like it was tightening her in a fist prepared to crush her to death.
A sob choked in her throat as Kinley's eyes fluttered, and she wasn't sure she could breathe. "No! You can tell that hot fuckboy whatever you need to tell him yourself! Do you hear me?!" she said, heart wrenching desperation in her tone. There was no answer, though, and looking down Kennedy let out a strangled cry as she noticed her twin's eyes were closed. "No no no no no," she cried, the words coming faster as her breath came in gasps. Hysteria was rising in her throat, and her vision began to shift as it felt like she too was about to pass out from the suffocating sensation that now seemed too much. It was crushing her. She couldn't take it.
