Jewel & Cris: Yorath Common Room
It was a bit disconcerting having a blind girl stare at you, but not stare at you. If that makes any sense. Hell, what made any sense right at the moment? Honestly, he had just as much of a fear taking Jewel along with him. Having to track down Sophie and Gia, but with another body in tow just amped up his anxiety. What if he couldn't protect the blind girl? What if she caused a situation that got one of his sisters hurt? God, he hated this.
Still, Cris could sense her fear, and he certainly couldn't force her to risk herself outside. And She did have a point about losing time. "You're not silly, Jewel," he said with a grumble. "You're blind; not stupid."Taking one of her hands in his, Cris pressed his lacrosse stick into it, wrapping her fingers around the long pole. The other hands he took her fingers and looped them around one of the belt loops on his shorts."You stay behind me, and don't let go unless I tell you to, okay?"
Moving back toward the entrance, Cris was pleased that she followed along quietly. He'd softly direct Jewel over larger obstacles so she wouldn't stumble and take them both down. He deftly peered into the hall only to see an attacker at the far end looking around. He quickly ducked back into the room and pushed Jewel against the wall, pressing her flat against it. He heard footsteps running in their direction and he leaned in close to whisper directly into her ear, "Don't move."
