Jewel & Cris: Yorath Common Room
It was partially an attempt at humor and partially just not knowing what else to say. Jewel remembered his name, she kind of had to after the introduction they'd had, and his voice was one she would've recognized anywhere. (It kind of came with the territory of being pretty much blind. Other senses were amplified.) She'd missed him shaking his head, however, and merely thought he was moving around in search of attackers or even others who were still alive.
Jewel didn't want to make anymore noise than was necessary, so she merely nodded in response to Cris' words. Despite her resolve, she still made more sound trying to climb out than she would've liked. Stealth was not something she typically possessed, not anymore at least. Hard to be stealthy when your sight was gone.
Once she was out, she took a quiet breath, steadying herself. She had someone to help, she didn't hear any shots at the moment. She could do this. "No. I managed to hide right when they came in," she whispered, embarrassed by the admission but figuring it went without saying that she couldn't exactly fight her way out like a gallant knight.
