Jewel & Cris: Yorath Common Room
Jewel finally felt like she could make her way out, knowing it likely wouldn't be successful but having to try anyway. She couldn't just sit here and let them pick her off simply because of an accident and a stupid disease. The common room had been quiet for awhile, which made her stomach clench uncomfortably. Everyone was likely dead by now, but at least the attackers hadn't thought to come back and do an extra sweep. Yet.
The thought had no sooner left her mind before she heard just the barest brush of feet against carpet. Sucking in a silent breath, she brought her hands over her mouth again just in case. The tears welled up in her eyes again, but this time she only let them trickle down her cheeks as she sent a silent prayer to whatever gods were listening. The voice that answered, however, was not one she expected. Considering the timing, it was still pretty divine. At least to her ears.
Quickly attempting to wipe her face, she tried not to throw herself at Cris like some pathetic damsel. There was a small bit of burning embarrassment and a brief moment where she cursed her luck at having him be the one to catch her sobbing like an idiot. "Hey," she managed, knowing she looked ridiculous but also too relieved to care too much.
