Ajay & Chaos | Draven Common Room
Ajay's head was ringing from the blow, making everything blurry and out of focus for recurring moments, which was his only explanation for his inability to disapparate when the gun went off. He couldn't get his bearings, and his reaction time suffered considerably because of it. Blinking in an attempt to right his view of the world, he let out a grunt as a foot collided with his midsection. The pain exploded like a starburst behind his eyes, and he was wavering between conscious and unconscious when he finally opened them again and saw a gun aimed at his head. Well shit.
Deciding he didn't want to see the bullet speeding towards him, Ajay closed his eyes.A few breathless moments passed, making him wonder what the hell was going on, before he finally opened them to check on his apparently inept attacker. Chaos had just finished snapping the man's neck once the scene focused around him, and this time his confusion was only because he was so thrown off. It wasn't that he didn't think she was capable of such a feat, it was just that he hadn't expected her to find him.
"Would you believe me if I said 'coming to save you'?" he questioned, still trying to stop his now-throbbing head from spinning as he got to his feet. Ajay shifted a little, uncomfortable that she'd noticed how quickly he got to the common room, but now wasn't the time to formulate a proper lie. Everything was exploding with noise and chaos around them, and it wasn't helping his head any. He was turning towards Chaos to explain when he noticed one of the attackers from across the room. The man had a gun raised, pointed at Chaos whose back was to him. There was no time to jump in between them if the man shot, and no time to warn her either.
Without hesitation, Ajay dissolved into the air, knowing she would see it up close and personal now. That thought was only a background consideration, however. Once he reappeared behind the man, he acted on instinct. His actions were quick despite never having killed anyone before, and soon the sound of bone snapping in the man's neck was the only sound he could hear. His ears seemed to muffle everything else, and it suddenly felt very small in the room. Ajay knew these were despicable human beings, ones who didn't deserve mercy, but he'd also vowed long ago that he would never take a life. No matter the circumstances. He wouldn't prove his family and their accusations right.
Except now he had.
Adrenaline replaced the tunnel vision, and a sharp pain in the back of his skull reminded him that he couldn't dwell on this now. Dissolving once again, he reappeared beside Chaos in the blink of an eye. "We should probably get out of here."
