Ajay & Chaos | Draven Common Room
Ajay knew it was stupid, in the way that it would most certainly alert Chaos to certain feelings he had brewing under the surface that he didn't want her to know about yet not in any way that had to do with danger, but he found himself making his way across the campus instead of finding a way off of it when everything went to hell. The reason for it was simple: he had to go get her.
They had been supposed to meet for dinner when the first gunfire sounded in the Great Hall. Ajay had just finished a text asking what the hell was taking her so long, and she'd told him she was in her room and would be there soon. That's when the world literally imploded, and once the dust settled, the genie knew he really only had one option. He had to go back to their dorm and get Chaos out of there. He didn't care that it was across campus, through likely a very close resemblance to a warzone. He didn't care that it was stupid and reckless. Hell, he didn't even care if she slapped him for his idiocy once he got there. Ajay couldn't leave her to fend for herself, even if he was fairly confident she could. If he were an attacker, he knew he wouldn't want to fuck with Chaos.
Getting back to the dorm was as difficult, and more terrifying than he'd admit, as he'd imagined too. Ajay was more than a little worse for wear by the time he materialized in the common room, but he was alive. This was largely thanks to his genie ability to turn into smoke. If he hadn't been spotted helping a young girl quivering under one of the tables on his way out, he wouldn't have been hurt at all. That was a bonus. Now he just had to make it upstairs before that luck ran out. Before he could turn to smoke again, however, a sudden blow to the side of his head caught him off guard. Ajay was knocked to the floor, rolling just in time to avoid the bullet that embedded itself there seconds later. Shit. So much for luck.
