Priscilla & Alexei-The Library
The last place Priscilla really wanted to be was the library. The fingers of one hand drummed idly against the desk as she let her head rest on the other, trying not to fixate on the clock too much. She couldn't help but wonder what J.A. was doing. There might not have been any burning passion between them, but there was affection and respect. She liked the prince, he just wasn't who she really wanted. He was also still in Brazil, watching his friends compete and having a good time, something she'd been loathe to leave once it was time for her to come back. As much as Priscilla wanted to have fun like they had at the winter Olympics, her parents insisted she spend a little more time on her studies too. A future royal couldn't be ignorant of the world around them, after all.
Rolling her eyes at the memory, she tried to stop letting her gaze sneak back to Alexei watching from a few tables away. Just the sight of him made her heart skip in a way it never did with anyone else, which of course was a realization she squashed almost as quickly as she reverted her gaze. It was right when her blue eyes flicked back down that the explosion rocked through the room, blowing the thick soundproof doors of the library inward. Debris rained around them, and she tasted blood in her mouth as she realized the chair she'd been sitting in was now on top of her. Coughing, she tried to sit up, but the sounds of pounding feet and shouts made her freeze. Within seconds, the unmistakable pop of gunfire sounded around her in a frenzy, and screams replaced the confused shouts.
