To say that James Ashton was in a mood would be an understatement. Really he was pissed. He had spent the last several months doing everything and anything his parents had asked of him. He went to every party, every royal event, he made speeches and behaved in the manner expected of the crown prince. The vampire court was in awe of the transformation and generally expressed their approval that the Prince seemed to be finally taking his role seriously. There were few, if any, that questioned how much he was giving up to do this. Today had crossed a line though. The X-games were happening and all his best friends were there. JA had never missed an x-games in so many years, since he had met Chester really. He had tried to ask about going, perhaps missing one party or maybe the party could be moved, but the request had been denied and here he was.
He was trying to keep up appearances though. He forced the pleasant grin to his face as he moved in the party. Greeting guests and generally playing the role of a good prince. He hated the role but he played it well. He talked the politics they wanted, drank the perfect amount of champagne, Danced with Pricilla. Everything he was expected to do.
He sighed to himself as he pulled his phone out of his pocket. He took just a few minutes to check for results, news and other information. There wasn't much yet, but he could see that Else had won her first event. He cursed silently to himself that he couldn’t even watch the videos of it yet. He shoved it back in to his pocket before he picked up the pair of glasses off the bar. He moved to his girlfriend and handed her a glass.
"Enjoying yourself?" he asked her as he focused the smile more firmly on his face.
