JULY & SHANNON | AFTER MIDNIGHT
If it had been any other situation and any other person, July might have had a very different reaction to the way he laughed softly at her question. She internally cursed herself for not being strong enough to resist the temptation of anything related to Twilight, but didn't actually curse him.
Not yet, at least.
"July," she replied, not missing the way he left off his last name but also not really caring why that was. Not many people were so formal as to introduce themselves by their full name anyway, and she had a last name that was better left unsaid too. "You look familiar. Have I met you before?" she asked, studying him for a minute. "Yelled at you? Kicked yo in the shin? Something?" Her lips were quirking despite her resolve to act disinterested at her own sense of humor, though she expected Shannon wouldn't appreciate it. Not many people did.
Surprise flashed across her face when he asked which song was hers, and it was so unexpected that July couldn't even hold onto her snarky shield. "You really want to know?" she said, though it seemed like she was also saying 'You really know the soundtrack that well?'. When it appeared he did, however, she didn't have anything nasty to say. For once.
"There were two, actually," she finally answered, shrugging a little as if it were no big deal when her green eyes were so bright that it was obvious she was proud. "'I Caught Myself' and 'Decode'." Decode was the more well-known of the two, but July was too proud of herself to downplay.
