WHO: The Jukebox Romeos & their dates (and anyone who would go to this show!) WHEN: Christmas Eve; 9pm and on WHAT: Christmas Eve show! Cuteness ensues! WHERE: Asbury Park Convention Hall RATING: Adorable.
It was tradition for The Jukebox Romeos to be in Asbury Park on Christmas Eve, playing a show in their hometown. It was pretty much by invite only, the tickets given to friends, family and longtime fans of the bands. It was a big deal to get a ticket. Each of the band members had invited their closest friends, family and significant others. A few local bands opened for them, bands with friends and other local musicians they had played with. Then The Jukebox Romeos played an hour and a half set, with the entire convention hall singing and dancing along with them, the atmosphere that of old friends coming back together. There were old songs and new ones played. One of the highlights of the night was him playing a new stripped down acoustic song, "Blue Jeans & White T-Shirts," which he dedicated to his girl friend Virginia. After their set, the band mingled with the crowd, old friend and new while their own hometown heroes, Rise Against played to close out the night.
